This is a sneak peak of my own home… thought you might like to see how an Interior Designer lives.
My home is in the beachside suburb of Scarborough, Western Australia. It only made sense to me that the design of the home should reflect its coastal orientation with a spray of bohemian influences. White is my favourite colour; I love working with a neutral colour palette and knew that the interior of my home had to reflect this without having too many obvious coastal elements.
Given the nature of my job, I knew that this would not be my forever home. I had a budget in mind that I knew could well be impossible to stick to, but with my extensive knowledge of finishes and fittings I was able to source all the materials to deliver the result I wanted – for the price I hoped for too.
I started my furniture selection process as soon as the construction on my home commenced. I was very conscious of how long it takes to select pieces and then once selected how long it takes to arrive in Perth. This enabled me to move in to my new home with all the new furniture pieces delivered and ready to be put together.
